Attachments
Attachments are tooth-coloured composite abutments (knobs) that help to increase the transfer of force from the aligner to the tooth during aligner therapy.
Whether attachments are used is decided by the dentist during a personal consultation. They are needed when the aligner itself cannot exert enough force on the tooth to be corrected because there is not enough contact surface.
