FAQ
Are bestsmile Veneers visible?
Veneers are fitted to your teeth and are therefore hardly noticeable – all you see is your new, radiant smile. To produce them, we use high-quality leucite ceramic, which closely resembles natural tooth enamel in colour and hardness.
Can veneers discolour?
Veneers do not discolour. Thanks to its high density, the high-quality leucitic ceramic ensures that the natural colour of ceramic teeth is permanently maintained.
How long does the treatment with bestsmile Veneers take?
Thanks to bestsmile Veneers, you will get your new smile after just a few appointments. After the preparation appointment and the application of the temporaries, we usually need one to two weeks to manufacture the veneers. At the end of your treatment, the temporary veneers will be replaced with the final ceramic veneers.
Can I smoke with veneers?
Yes, you can smoke with veneers. However, your own teeth may become discoloured in the area the veneers are attached due to smoking.
How long do veneers last?
Veneers last an average of 10 to 12 years. And with good care, even longer.

Free appointmentWhat are veneers? Veneers are wafer-thin ceramic shells, applied mostly to the anterior teeth for cosmetic reasons. They can be permanent and removable. The permanent ones are bonded to the patient’s teeth and are usually made of ceramic, porcelain or composite and can last over 10 years. The removable ones, called clip-on veneers or snap-on teeth, are not permanently bonded to the patient’s teeth, can be prepared at home and are fairly inexpensive. However, some patients have reported that clip-on veneers can be uncomfortable at times as they are not custom-made and have to be removed for eating.
To determine the exact size and fit of the veneers, your bestsmile dentist will take a painless 3D scan of your jaws at your consultation appointment. With the help of a custom-made computer simulation, you can see a digital preview of your smile before the treatment begins. As soon as you decide to start your veneer treatment, your scan data is sent to our dental laboratory in Winterthur, where experienced dental technicians will first digitally design your individual veneers. They are then milled out from a ceramic block with state-of-the art milling technology. Each piece is a small work of art. After the milling process, the dental veneers are manually checked for quality by our dental technicians, the selected colour is applied by hand and the edges are also all shaped by hand for the perfect fit.
The so-called adhesive technique is used to cement ceramic veneers. This means that a thin plastic adhesive is applied to the enamel and a firm bond is created between the real tooth and the veneer. However, in order for the veneers to sit firmly on the teeth, a minimal amount (maximum 0.5 mm) of the enamel needs to be ground off.
How much veneers cost depends on the number of dental coverings needed and on the payment method. At bestsmile, the veneers prices range from CHF 3900 for 4 veneers to CHF 8900 for 12 veneers. To make the treatment affordable for everyone, bestsmile offers monthly instalments from CHF 80.
The durability of your bestsmile Veneers depends on how well you take care of them and on how good your oral hygiene is. When taking good care of them, dental veneers should last over 10 years. bestsmile even grants a 10-year warranty on them and will replace them if necessary. Make sure you clean your teeth thoroughly every day and have your veneers checked by a dentist every six months. Further details about the bestsmile warranty can be found here.
With the high-quality bestsmile Veneers, you can master your everyday tasks without any restrictions. You don’t have to worry about the veneers when chewing, biting or kissing. The hard ceramic material sits firmly on your teeth and easily withstands the usual pressure.
The ceramic shells are optimally adapted to your tooth shape and colour. This creates a natural look and your smile will shine beautifully. To the naked eye, veneers are almost indistinguishable from natural teeth. One reason for this is that the thin ceramic shells are as translucent as real tooth enamel.
Veneer treatment is usually harmless and for the most part it goes smoothly. There is a small risk that your teeth will become slightly more sensitive to temperature after treatment. This is because approximately 0.1–0.5 mm of the enamel should be removed to apply the ceramic shells firmly and permanently to your teeth. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our experienced dentists.
